A Bikini Contest with a Conscience

By  |
This may sound crazy but Las Vegas just landed a bikini contest with a conscience. The Ultimate Bikini Championships at Drai’s BeachClub not only makes sure that every model who participates gets paid every week, but a portion of the sponsorship proceeds are going to the National Breast Cancer Coalition.

The contest is the brain child of local producer Michael Clark who teamed up withJohnny Ray from Cougar King Entertainment with the specific goal of changing the face of bikini contests in Las Vegas by creating an innovative approach to the prize structure and interjecting a sense of social responsibility.

“You can’t have a bikini contest without the beautiful swimsuit models that participate”, says Clark, “and for years they’ve been over worked and exploited by properties the world over only to find out after several weeks of participation”, (much of which includes mandatory promotional tasks), “they won’t be winning anything. Our intention is to reward each contestant every week with an innovative prize structure that will pay the models for their time. Time is money, especially in Las Vegas.”

Johnny Ray from Cougar King Entertainment added, “We’re going to run a fair and wholesome competition with a social awareness policy that all parties concerned can be proud of. We formed a partnership with the National Breast Cancer Coalition and a portion of our sponsor’s proceeds will be donated for the fight to end breast cancer by 2020.”

The next piece of the puzzle was to find an exceptional venue in Las Vegas that would share the sensibilities of the championships and could guarantee the audience and sponsors a one of a kind, premium beach club experience, with full VIP services and amenities.

According to Michael Clark and Johnny Ray, “Drai’s immediately came to mind and we were very excited when they agreed to produce the bikini championships there.”

The UBC will feature over $160,000. in cash awards with a grand prize of $50,000. The action kicks off Sunday, July 5 at noon and will repeat every Sunday untilSeptember 6.
