How to Choose the Best Glasses for Your Face

By  |

Beauty comes from within but there’s nothing wrong with wanting to look your best on the outside as well, is there? Fashion choices and accessories make a fun and interesting way to accentuate our best features and show off our unique personality. In that respect, your choice of glasses can affect your image greatly. Not only can the style of glasses add to your individuality but the frame you go for can also make your face more symmetrical and highlight your beauty even more. Therefore, it’s very important that you take the time to pick your glasses carefully.

Choose a perfect frame for your face shape

Obviously, you want your glasses to sit well on your face. So, you need to consider your face shape when on the hunt for the new pair. In case your face is on the round side, you should definitely go for more angular glasses, with frames that are square or rectangular. In general, stay clear from really small or overly round frames as well as rimless ones. On the other hand, if you have a square face, you want a complete opposite. This means you should look at oval or round glasses and avoid the angular ones. Glasses with a stronger bridge that are wider than the face perfectly compliment the oval face shape, but you don’t want them to be too large so that they cover more than half of your face. Diamond and heart-shaped faces differ only in the forehead area. In that respect, both shapes would look truly amazing in oval and cat-eye glasses, and you can even try out some more angular frames. However, those of you with a heart-shaped face may want to look for frames that have a bolder bottom part of the glasses. Most importantly, stay clear from really narrow glasses.

The color of your frames matters

Just like the shape of your frames in regards to your face shape, you should also consider the color you go for. After all, if you have to wear prescription glasses, they will be an everyday accessory for you. If you want to make sure that they look stunning and find the right color, learn what your skin undertone is first. In case you have a warm skin tone, which means that your skin has a yellowish, bronze or golden cast to it, you should also go for similar shades. It’s important to mention that black and white or pastels are not a great choice in this case. Instead, focus your search on browns and golds as well as beige, olive green and/or maroon. On the other hand, if you have a cool skin tone, you can enjoy frames in the shades of silver, black, pink, blue, gray, purple and other obviously cool tones.

What does your lifestyle dictate?

One of the most important aspects of your glasses is how they actually fit your lifestyle. You may find glasses that accentuate your natural beauty perfectly, but you just don’t feel that they completely match your outfits and the overall style. In the end, this is a serious question since you want to feel confident with every bit of your appearance, glasses included. For example, if you like to dress casually, you should also look for glasses with a more casual vibe. On the other hand, if you like to feel glamorous and fashionable on an everyday basis, gorgeous Prada glasses may be a good investment. Remember, always take into account your tastes and likes when choosing glasses.

If your lifestyle and personality require different versions of you that still make you who you are, don’t forget that you can have more than one pair of glasses. Even if you have to dress up formally for work and your true fashion style is not all that formal, the important thing is to find the garments and create looks that will present the best of both worlds. Apply the same approach to your glasses. With so many incredible choices on the market these days, you really don’t have to settle for anything less than what you personally find amazing and unique.
