From reality TV shows to gossip magazines, the fashion world is trying to convince us that spending thousands of dollars on cosmetic surgeries or extravagant accessories is the only way to live a more rewarding and satisfying life.

That may be the lifestyle for some, but for most of us, we don’t have the funds to drop hundreds, even thousands of dollars on luxurious items just to make ourselves look or feel better. This is where we have to get creative. We have to sort through hundreds of beauty products to find the hidden gems that are affordable and actually improve our overall appearance.

Well, it’s time to turn off Keeping Up with The Kardashians and put down Cosmopolitan Magazine and start investing your time using products that enhance your appearance—without breaking the bank.

Now do I have your attention? Good, let’s get started! Here are five products that will easily (and affordably) transform your overall appearance:

  1. Manicured Nails Make All the Difference

Having a fresh manicure can absolutely boost a woman’s confidence. For the women that don’t like taking the time or spending the money to go to a nail salon, like myself, I have an easy solution for you. Before I go out, my nail go-to is Dashing Diva’s press-on nails. What’s great about this brand is that it offers a chic and salon-quality look without the struggle of trying to create a nail design or deal with wet nail polish. This is a style tip that many celebrities use for big events, especially when they have to look their very best!

  1. Bad Hair Day? Let’s Fix That

Have you ever noticed that when you are having a bad hair day, your whole appearance suffers a little bit? That’s because as women, our hair frames our face and has the ability to make or break a certain style or look. Whether you have straight hair, wavy hair or curly hair, I have found that a “frizz-free” hair polish is the best product to make your hair shiny, soft and silky, even on a bad hair day.

  1. Perfecting Your Skin

Many women make the mistake of applying multiple layers of face makeup to cover up blemishes on their face. I’m guilty of it, a lot of us are! I’ve learned it’s easier to take care of your skin, rather than trying to cover it up after the damage is already done. Three words: exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate! The product that I have found that works best is a natural enzyme exfoliator. Not only is it made of 100% natural ingredients, but it also contains anti-aging ingredients that will prevent breakouts and encourage a rapid skin turnover.

  1. Shine Bright Like a Diamond

People say a smile is worth a thousand words, and I completely agree! Sometimes we often forget how much attention people pay to our mouth. Talking, smiling, laughing, you name it and people are most likely noticing your teeth. Not even the most beautiful people in the world look good with yellow teeth. With that being said, one of the easiest tricks in the books is to whiten your teeth without destroying your enamel or paying an outrageous amount for professional whitening. To make my teeth whiter and brighter, I use whitening strips. They’re easy to use, affordable, and they give you a brighter smile in 20 minutes or less!

  1.  Everyone Looks Better with A Little Color

As the cold weather approaches and the sun fades, so does our sun-kissed skin. Even if you have fair, freckly skin, adding a little color to your body gives you a beautiful, natural glow. Sunless tanning is easier than ever and I have found a product that looks and feels natural, rather than splotchy and orange. I avoid the gunk of lotion by using tan towels, a self-tan full body application towelette that gives you a healthy glow without the sun damage. Don’t believe me? Try it yourself, you won’t regret it.

Whether you choose to listen to these tips or ignore them, just know that there are simple ways to enhance your overall appearance without spending all of your money!
