5 Hijab Catwalk Styles You Can Wear Every Day

By  |

In the last few years, we have been lucky enough to witness one of the most amazing breakthroughs in modest fashion. We’re talking about models in hijabs who rocked the ramps in some of the most prestigious fashion events such as the New York Fashion Week.

Many other cities, such as London, Jakarta and Istanbul, have initiated their own modest fashion weeks and each has shown us an incredible array of beautiful styles. However, there are doubts as to the practical nature of the trends shown, with women often hesitating to give them a try. This is why we’ve compiled 5 of the most wearable hijab catwalk styles that you can easily wear as part of your daily routine!

#5 – Turban with a Twist

For a cool and casual look with sporty edge, turban hijabs were the best trend we saw on the catwalk. These hijabs looked equally good with geometrically and floral printed outfits. However, for the ramp style, give your turban hijabs a new look for instance by wearing head jewellery on them or wrapping them in unique ways.

#4 – Silk Hijabs

Silk hijabs were immensely popular in all the modest fashion weeks that we observed. So if you haven’t tried wearing a silk hijab yet, now is definitely the right time to get one. Silk hijabs have a magical shine which seems to give a fresh glow to the face of hijabis. Moreover, they are also very comfortable to wear and friendly for not just the environment but also your skin and hair. They are perfect for party wear as well as casual wear as long as you select the right colour.

#3 – Pastel Colours

As you might have noticed, most of the hijabs on the catwalk last year were wearing pastel colours, especially in shades of pink. Many hijab collections were based exclusively on the sorbet palette so it won’t be wrong to say that these are the colours you should be wearing now for the prettiest looks.

#2 – Colour Blocking

For those who aren’t too fond of pastels, one way to carry this trend in a chic way is to use the colour blocking technique. So instead of dressing from head to toe in the same pastel shade, choose different colours of the same family and bring them together for a sweet and sophisticated look. You can always accentuate one item of your outfit if you don’t feel confident in wearing bright hues – go for an orange topcoat or a bold green tunic!

#1 – Make a Statement

With so many designers and renowned brands now entering the hijab business, it’s not too hard anymore to find a hijab with stunning details that can help you make a style statement and instantly glam up any outfit you wear. For instance, we saw hijabs with intricate embroidery, beadwork and sequenced patterned that were wrapped in such a way that it made the patterns prominent and pleasing to the eye. While such hijabs may be comparatively more expensive but we believe they are also timeless so definitely worth the investment.

So to sum up, every modest fashion week so far has been worth following and they undoubtedly give hijabis some new and unique hijab trends to try. We hope that the ideas we shared inspired you and you’ll be applying them soon. Happy wearing!
