Byronesque x Hotoveli Pop Up

By  |

It was like a black parade, except less music and rather pleasing black M&Ms, Byronesque style. More than just a brilliant collaboration with Hotoveli, an excellent boutique in West Village that carries cutting edge piece that are to die for. Byronesque the online designer contemporary vintage fashion and editorial site that launched in 2012 is going offline again. Starting May 19th to June 5th serious vintage lovers can buy and explore the designs that changed the course of fashion forever. This time with a selection of meticulously chosen designer vintage pieces from all over the world such as the Azzadine Aläia leather biker dress made infamous by Grace Jones, rare Comme Des Garçons from dot.COMME in Australia and early Supreme pieces that will be available the second week of the installation. The installation also features photographs of Michéle Lamy and Marina Abramovic styled in Byronesque styled by Havana Laffitte and photographed by Byronesque’s creative director, Justin Westover. They can be seen outside the windows of Hotoveli projected onto two television screens.

This was also the launch of Byronesque’s a new Personal shopping app for iPhone. It is also updated with new images that are on a daily basis, the app allows users to browse a growing archive of carefully edited images of womenswear spanning the late-‘70s to the late-‘90s. The fun part of it all is that users can upload and submit their own images from magazines, blogs, runway pictures, and social networks to create their own personalized feed of wanted items. The most exciting part of the night was when Madame Michéle Lamy the muse of Rick Owens was going through the designer vintage with rapper/fashion influencer A$AP Rocky. She would carefully select a piece and tell A$AP all about it with smile, it was truly a, “you had to be there moment”.
I hope to see this generation evoke the sense of compassion and respect for well designed clothes, and Byronesque is doing just that. “We’re not borrowing from the past. We are the future of fashion.” – Byronesque

Thanks for sharing! This is so close to me. The 70s and 90s couldn’t be a better choice to choose to come back.
