Fall into those eyes…

By  |

For anyone not living in the state of California fall colors bring leaves to mind.  The same color scheme is that of this falls hottest eye shadow trends.  What’s great about these colors is that they complement every skin tone and eye color.

Let’s fall in love with fall eyes.

Maroon/Mauve

Although these colors tend to intimidate, they are actually the easiest to work with.  If the shade being used is matte, stick to the crease when applying.  If the shade has a bit of a shimmer to it, creating an intense smoky eye is ideal.  Take a highly pigmented shade such as Kat Von D’s Metallic shadow in Raw Power and place on the lid blending upward towards the crease with a large domed crease brush.  For added smoky effect, use a small smudge brush to place the color on the lower lash line as well.

Orange/Burnt Umber

For someone looking to ease into a fall look these colors are the best to start with.  They tend to look great with gold and copper tones.  A bright orange makes for a lovely pop of color in the inner corner of the eye or a lid color.  A burnt umber crease with a gold lid makes for an impressive party eye look.  For highly pigmented colors that go on like butter check out Marc Jacobs style icon shadow no. 7 in The Starlet.

Forrest Green

Since this color is a bit darker the most important tip when applying is to use a dense flat brush, and tap it beforehand to avoid fall out.   Forrest green generally looks best on the lid with a dark and or light brown to soften the crease.  If feeling spicy throw a gold highlight in the inner corner of the eye and along the brow bone.  Achieve this look with Hourglass modernist eye shadow palette in Color Field. For a subtle look incorporating this color, line the top lash line and water line with a darker green waterproof eyeliner.  This can really make eyes pop with a neutral eye.

Embrace the pumpkin spice, football, and fall into the mesmerizing leaf toned eye shadows of the season.
