80% of the people that are reading this have a lifestyle where they are sitting down for most of the day and they feel fatigued at the end of each day. They will look in the mirror and wonder how their waist got so big in a short space of time. This is caused from a lack of exercise and a poor diet. But it isn’t entirely your fault because in most of our environments (be it at home or at work) aren’t designed to complement a healthy lifestyle. The thing is if you want to be healthy and have a trim figure, it doesn’t need to be difficult.

Exercise equipment specialists Little Bloke Fitness share the following lifestyle tips that you can adopt to help you torch the fat, keep your muscle and make you  look incredible in just a matter of weeks.

Maintain a low-carbohydrate diet.

People gain unwanted fat because they consume food and drinks that contain carbohydrates and fats, which get stored as energy in the body. Society doesn’t make it any easier since most of the food and drink options that people are presented with aren’t as healthy as it should be. And typically the healthier options are more expensive than the unhealthy alternative.

If your meals typically consist of rice, pasta, potatoes and sweet drinks, then you need to switch to a healthier alternative. Substitute sweet drinks with water or green tea and trade in the starchy foods for green vegetables such as cabbage, broccoli and zucchini. You will find that you will need to eat a lot more, however your body won’t store what you consume as fat.

You will also need to increase the amount of lean protein that you consume. Make sure that lean proteins such as beef, chicken or fish makes up at least 50% of your meal. This will stop you from feeling hungry and you will find that you will eat less throughout the day.

If your lifestyle doesn’t require you to walk do much physical activities throughout the day (such as working at a desk job), then it is really important that you maintain a low-carb diet.

Participate in 40 minutes worth of cardio activity 4 times a week.

When someone mentions cardio, the first thing that usually comes to mind is running on the treadmill. And even though it is an effective exercise; it is often one of the most boring ways to do your cardio workout.

You can inject more fun into your cardio workouts by participating in social activities or entertaining yourself while you are doing your workout. For example, you can participate in a group fitness activity where you can meet people and socialise. This might include sports activities such as basketball, squash or a running club. Alternatively, you could join activity groups such as aerobic classes, crossfit gyms or dance clubs.

For those days where you will train by yourself, you could do a scenic run or you can do your cardio on machines while watching your favourite television show or movie.

You can keep your cardio motivation interesting by participating in the different cardio activities on different days throughout the week.

Increase your sex appeal by lifting weights.

Lifting weights won’t make you look like a bodybuilder. Lifting just the right amount of resistance weights will help you shape and strengthen your muscles. Focus on toning your arms, legs, back, shoulders, abs and upper chest. Aim to do repetitions of 15 for 3 sets each.

Typically, people see drastic results in 12 weeks. If you start implementing these lifestyle changes, you will start to see similar results as well. So take a look at your lifestyle now and the look that you would like to achieve. Start incorporating the tips that have been provided by the little blokes above and expect to see a change for the better soon.
