This past Thursday I had the honor to be invited to Planet Blue’s 20th anniversary Full Moon Bazaar, hosted at Sky Bar @ The Mondrian Hotel. Sky Bar is located in the heart of LA. The bar itself is an outdoor bar overseeing the L.A. skyline with a large pool and huge white couches that were reserved for VIP. A great venue to host such event. The party scene was the epitome of the L.A. style. Party goers included the best dressed and most attractive of L.A.. Styles ranged from the popular L.A. grunge look composed of leather jackets, distressed jeans and flannels all the way to more of a boho chic look. There were an assortment of amazing jumpsuits and that were flowy with a wide leg that were styled with chunky heels and wedges.
Featured brands included Blue Life, Jen’s Pirate Booty, Sundry, Band of Martians, Brixton, Show Me Your Mumu, Groceries, Jacquie Aiche, Vanessa Mooney, Tori Praver, Made By Dawn, Acacia Swimwear, Frankie’s Bikinis, Kai & Solé Bikes. At the event these brands had mini pop-up shops placed within a white tented room for party goers to walk thru, check out and shop. A few of my favorites brands were the swimsuit lines, Brixton and Kai & Solé Bikes. The swimsuit wear were perfect for the California beach scene. They were constructed of bold colors with sexy cut outs and teasing silhouettes. Brixton hats are one of my favorite hat brands. Their felt and wool hats are extremely well crafted with fairly stiff brims so if you are someone like me that likes to wear their hat on the daily basis, these would definitely be the ones to go for because they will for sure hold up and keep their shape. Kai & Solé Bikes brought in some of their coolest bikes. They had a very cool vintage styles that were painted in light pastels. The bikes were placed throughout the party and assailable to take photos with.
The overall ambiance of the party was extremely chic and land back. As party goers socialized around the pool and amongst the garden entrance, there were a lot of other amenities to take part in. There was a selfie station set up where you could take multiple photos with your group of friends and have the images directly emailed to you. Amongst that, there was a step-and-repeat with a hired photographer going around the party snapping shots of the night’s happenings and well dressed. Live music performances, and great drinks were just a few other options to keep the party going.
All together, it was a great event and a perfect place for networking and meeting some of L.A.’s fashion gurus. With the party starting at 8pm, I managed to make it there around 9:45pm and didn’t leave til about 1am when the party started to dwindle. Below I have placed a link to Planet Blue’s website, I also suggest checking out a few of the other brands and do a little shopping of your own to get yourself ready for the summer season! And if you’re ever in the downtown L.A. area, I would highly recommend checking out Sky Bar @ Mondrian Hotel!
