Mark your calendars!  On Saturday, October 15, 2016  the world’s finest thorough-bred horses will gather and compete in Far Hills for one of the richest purses in American steeplechase racing.

Every year the Far Hills Race draws over 35,000 spectators to the Borough of Far Hills (held at the cross-roads of Somerset, Hunterdon and Morris counties) for a day filled with fun, food and of course, horse racing.   Lucky spectators who hold the much-coveted tailgate spots host tent parties and barbeques to entertain their friends.

At the Chairman’s Pavilion, located trackside, guests can enjoy day-long dining and special activities, protection from the elements and full access to the exclusive Paddock area.  Attendees may also shop at the Vendor Village, featuring a range of high-end merchandise.  while  a special Family Area offers those with children a unique day of fun.

The seven races scheduled for this year will offer a combined purse structure of $700,000, including the $350,000 prize for the Grand National, the country’s leading steeplechase race.

Sponsored by Open Road Auto Group and Peapack-Gladstone Bank, proceeds from the daylong series of races will benefit healthcare in the region, including RWJBarnabas Health and Cancer Support Community Central NJ.  Open Road Auto Group has generously donated a luxury car. Raffle tickets are sold on Race Day. Proceeds benefit RWJBarnabas Health. The winning ticket will be drawn before the day’s final race.

Gates open at 8 a.m. on race day. Post time for the first race is 1 p.m. General admission tickets are $100 in advance or $200 at the gate. Advance ticket sales run from September 16th until October 14th. To purchase tickets or for a list of ticket sale locations, visit
