The 5 Most Luxurious Restaurants to Visit in Mykonos in 2017

By  |

Mykonos is the best place to dine in style while in Greece. In fact, the vibrant Cyclades Island is the best place to do anything in style while enjoying a blissfully luxurious holiday in the Aegean. Its blend of hip new hangouts, ultra-cool establishments with killer views and stunning whitewashed buildings makes this island the place to head to if you’re looking for the Greek equivalent of glamorous St Tropez. Those who rent a luxury villa in Mykonos are on the doorstep of endless dining opportunities. Hedonistic holidaymakers and foodies alike appreciate the top-class cuisine on offer in the many terrace restaurants and upscale bars in Mykonos. Here are five of our favorite.

  1. AvlitouThodoritravel-AvlitouThodori-food

Situated on the PlatisGialos beach, AvlitouThodori boasts one of the finest locations in Mykonos. Fortunately, its cuisine more than matches the views and customers can dine on classic Greek dishes such as hummus, feta wrapped in filo pastry and grilled halloumi cheese. The seafood is divine with freshly caught calamari, octopus and mussels making up much of the menu. The decor is modern and minimalist but distinctively Greek – as demonstrated by the dominance of white in the color scheme.

  1. Bill & CooBill & Coo’s Gourmet Restaurant

Bill & Coo’s Gourmet Restaurant is the restaurant of choice for those with a penchant for an immersive dining experience. And if it’s scenery you want, that’s what you’ll get in abundance! The restaurant is a haven of luxury, perfectly positioned over Megali Ammos Bay with tables by the hotel’s swimming pool. This is the place to visit when you want to indulge your senses since the food is also a revelation. Enjoy an innovative appetizer of cuttlefish ink ice-cream cones with parmesan sorbet as you watch one of the most beautiful sunsets you’ll ever see. Dishes include Greek style pasta with lemon confit, ouzo, sea urchin eggs and garlic and other mouthwatering Mediterranean-cuisine made from locally sourced produce. Innovative desserts include citrus tree infusions with parsley and ouzo and you’re invited to cleanse your palate with a unique raspberry sorbet made in lipstick containers. It’s a food journey with VIP treatment that you won’t forget!

  1. Ling Ling – Hakkasan Ling Ling - Hakkasan

Possibly the most hip and stylish restaurant on the island, Ling Ling is a recent addition to Mykonos’ dining scene by the owners of the renowned London restaurant Hakkasan. It’s like venturing into a secret cave that only a select few know about, but then when you get there the place is buzzing, particularly for late reservations. The prices are on the high side but then again, the ingredients include specialties like Wagyu beef with king soy sauce and Peking duck with caviar. The quality is as high as that of the London restaurant and the dim sum is sublime, but this time it’s in a lovely outdoor setting. The cocktails are also a highlight, but really it’s the ultra-modern decor that captures everyone’s attention. This place is extremely popular, so don’t forget to make a reservation.

  1. M-EatingM-Eating-best food

M-Eating is situated in a 19th-century traditional Mykonian building and this provides a fitting ambiance to the establishment. The chef and owner, PanagiotisMenardos, has utilized his experience in five-star hotels across the Mediterranean to fine-tune his culinary techniques, which focus on contemporary approaches to local dishes. There is a selection of tasty meat and fish dishes all beautifully presented, as well as vegetarian options that feature goats cheese and elegant salads. Al fresco dining is available in a charming garden, or out on the veranda on summer nights.

  1. Buddha Bar and RestaurantBuddha Bar and Restaurant-greek-dining

The famous Buddha Bar has found its own little corner of the Greek Islands and it doesn’t disappoint. It enjoys a privileged beachfront location in Ornos Santa Marina resort where you can hear the gentle lapping waves blend with the chilled music mixes that made the original Parisian bar so famous. The bar’s decor follows the brand’s signature aesthetic to satisfy its loyal customers. The menu is also in line with its contemporary sister restaurants and includes a Pacific Rim menu with pan-Asian, Californian and European influences, as well as Mediterranean and Greek fusion cuisine. It’s a wonderful spot to watch the beautiful Aegean sunset in comfort and style.
