Dajana Gudic: Why this Actress is The Real Deal
Dajana Gudic is a rare breed in the sense that she is truly one of the few triple-threats in Hollywood.
The Croatian/Serbian model and actress has a Bachelors degree in both Journalism and Broadcasting. According to Dajana, she’s always loved the entertainment Industry and worked as a model until she decided to take the leap into acting. She’s recently worked alongside Jamie Foxx, Eva Longoria and Jeremy Piven in a new comedy, All Star Weekend, directed by Jamie Foxx. She’s all about spreading love and helping others and given her pretty incredible resumé we couldn’t wait to sit down and talk to her.
Where are you from originally, and how did you become a model?
I’m from Sarajevo, Bosnia. I moved to Ohio when I was 14 and at 15, I started modeling for a clothing store I worked at as a sales person. The owner just came up to me at work and asked if I’d model his new collection. I loved it!
Can you tell us a bit more about your background?
My parents and I lived in Bosnia during the war. The tragic war took a toll on their marriage and my father moved to America. I stayed with my mother and joined my dad later on when I was 14. My parents decided I would have better opportunities in America. I didn’t even speak English back then so I’m fresh off the boat (laughs) I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Broadcasting. I’ve been modeling for a long time and recently started acting as well.
What’s the best part about being a model?
What I love about being a model is my freedom. I don’t have to be somewhere every day at the same time and that’s priceless. Shooting a lot of swimwear and lingerie also keeps me motivated to work out and look good..
If you weren’t acting what would you be doing?
If I wasn’t modeling and acting, I would be volunteering all around the world which I actually plan to do in the near future.
We’re sure some of our readers are wondering, how can a man catch your attention?
A man can catch my attention by being intelligent, funny or hard working . I love to be inspired by the people I surround myself with. If you don’t add anything to my life, I’m not interested.
What’s the worst pick-up line you’ve ever heard?
The worst pick up line I’ve ever heard was “I’d love to rub your belly and feed you cupcakes at the same time ” lol
How do you let a man know you’re interested?
I am a very straight forward person, so if I’m interested I’ll just tell you.
What’s your ideal date?
My ideal date would be something a man put thought and effort into.. I like the typical movie and dinner dates but I love something spontaneous and out of the ordinary.
What’s your best asset?
I think my best asset is being kind and compassionate. I also have a very positive outlook on life and I’m so grateful for everything and everyone around me.
Was it a dream come true to work on All Star Weekend?
Yes! It was a dream come true to work with so many talented people. I was in the scene with all three of the main actors, Jamie Foxx, Eva Longoria and Jeremy Piven and they were amazing to work with. I got to set late and ended up doing my own makeup in 2 minutes! All I could think of is “Oh my God I probably look crazy” but no one noticed! All Star Weekend will be the funniest comedy of the year. I can’t wait until it comes out this fall! Stay tuned!
What’s your guiltiest pleasure?
My guiltiest pleasure is definitely chocolate! I eat chocolate every single day after every meal. I’m surprised I still have teeth!
What are your biggest career highlights?
My biggest career highlight was when I worked alongside Jamie Foxx and Eva Longoria. It was surreal. I was like “somebody pinch me please”?
Lastly, where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
In 5 years, I see myself traveling and helping people around the world! I want to inspire kids who think their dreams are out of reach! As a woman whose first memories are tragic and who comes from nothing, I know how discouraging the world can be.
