4 Reasons To Get On Board With Self Care Sunday

By  |

Sunday is one of those days that we usually keep free to relax before the new week starts. However, it can also be a time that you have that looming dread because you’re going back to work. Because of this, self-care Sunday has been trending for a few years now and doesn’t seem to be going anywhere fast. Many of us don’t make time for self-care either so dedicating a day a week to some relaxing rituals could be just the thing you need to get you in the right frame of mind for the new week.

So if you’re in need of some rest and relaxation at the end of the week, why not get on board with a #selfcaresunday routine to boost your motivation and productivity. Try these simple self-care routines for starters:

Take a break from social media

You might be surprised at just how much time you spend on your phone scouring your social media feeds and refreshing to check your likes. But if you’re spending hours at a time each day, it could be time for a break. By spending time away from these platforms, you’re giving yourself some time to disconnect from the world. Social media is a great thing but it has also been linked to increased mental health issues in young people. If you ever compare yourself or feel overwhelmed with it, just take some time away and reevaluate its usage.

Do nothing

Yes, we actually said do nothing! There’s a culture that thrives upon being busy all the time, but being busy doesn’t always mean you’re productive. Burn out is real and if you’re constantly on the go, it can bring your whole outlook down. Why not just spend your Sunday doing nothing for once, and see how relaxing it is. Don’t make plans, just go with the flow. If in doubt, catch up on your favourites on Netflix or grab a good book.

Pamper yourself at home

There’s nothing wrong with treating yourself. So why not run a hot bubble bath, pop on a face mask and relax for a while with some soothing music in the background. Use oils such as these products at https://cbdolja.nu to help relive tired muscles or opt for scented bath bombs for a relaxing fragrance. You could also spend the day, painting your nails, getting a fake tan or having a massage to make you feel refreshed for the new week.

Get prepared for the week ahead

Preparation for the week ahead can help get everything in order to feel less stressed. Just simply make a list of things you need to do and prepare lunches or meals for work to free up some time. This also means you don’t have to rush around in the morning, especially if you’re not an early riser. You might even have some time to do a yoga flow or meditation session before you start work to get you in the right frame of mind.
