Most people want to make the best of themselves, but due to a constant on-the-go lifestyle, they don’t seem to find the time. They often think I need to do something about my weight, or hair, but push it to the back of their mind. Well, this is not conducive to a happy life. Usually, all it takes to take years off you is a little self thoughtfulness, some pampering and time to focus on number one.

We have come up with a list of simple but effective beauty hacks:

Drink more water      

Staying hydrated is an absolute must when it comes to looking after your skin, and water is the ultimate fluid to do this. It is an antioxidant and cleanses the body from within, meaning skin looks healthier, and your bodily organs appreciate a daily dose of this life-giving fluid. Water can also help you lose weight too. The best part about it is that water falls out your tap at home for free. 

Use face masks

You only have to wear them for about fifteen minutes, but they can make a world of difference to your skin. They can reduce the appearance of pores, fine lines and hydrate the skin. There are many different types of face masks, and it may be an idea to try several different ones to find out what works best for you. You can purchase some relatively cheaply, so it is easy to add a couple of sachets to your weekly shop budget.

Kick bad habits

There are so many things that you could be doing to ruin your skin. Do you drink too much alcohol or smoke, for example? Try cutting down on these things or, ideally, cutting them out completely. Maybe going to a heroin addiction treatment center will offer that extra support you need to brighten yourself up if you are struggling with alone. Do you eat too much sugary food? Cutting down on sugar helps clear the skin and reduces your waistline too, and it can help protect against a range of illnesses, including diabetes.


Doing a bit of cardio does wonders for the skin and your waistline. Running, or swimming, or joining in with a dance class, anything that makes you sweat and rushes blood to the surface of your skin will rejuvenate your skin cells and take away any waste cells. However, ensure you wear sunscreen if you intend to run in the sun.

Eat more fruit and vegetables 

Fruit and vegetables are packed full of vitamins and minerals, which are essential to your body in many ways. They can also help protect you against diseases such as cancer. The healthier the body is, the more beautiful you will look. So take care to put the correct items onto your shopping list. If you feel you are suffering from something like acne, for example, put blueberries on the list. Fruit and vegetables flush the body of toxins which can cause any number of potential irritations and illnesses.
