Whether you are opening a new food place, hosting a party in your hotel restaurant or renovating a food diner, the fact is – you will need not only the correct but the best catering equipment. 

However, this can often be a lot easier said than done. After all, with so many catering products to consider it can often be easy to forget something. Not only this but having the basic products is not enough; you need to ensure that your catering equipment stands out from the crowd and that it is not generic if you want to make a great impression.

This may all sound like a lot of hassle and a lot to think about. But if you tackle it in an organized manner then you will have the catering side of things dealt with in no time. Thus, to give you a helping hand, this article will provide you with a checklist of different equipment you will require. In addition to this you will require a bar mat for your glasses to dry on (…and if you didn’t think of it already then you’ll need glasses funnily enough). If you are serving cocktails then you will obviously need cocktail equipment, such as a cocktail shaker and a strainer. Furthermore, you will also need bottle holders and measures for spirits. Finally, to add a bit of personality to the bar, why not buy some fancy garnish holders or quirky bar signs. 

Now, on to the food… You obviously need to make sure that you have a whole host of various plates and dishes to cater to all of the food available on the menu. For instance, you may require sizzle platters or mini plates for appetizers. In addition to this you will also need a wide range of cutlery, when deciding on this you need to again think of the menu, for instance, is steak on the menu? If so then make sure you opt for a cutlery set which boasts a steak knife. When considering your catering equipment, one of the best ways to add personality and elegance to your restaurant, hotel or food place, is to invest in some unique and intriguing glasses. You wouldn’t believe the array of different designed and intricately shaped glasses there are available. Instead of just opting for a wine glass selection, a beer glass selection and some tumbles, why not consider carafes, cocktail glasses and pitchers? Keg rental and keg return will also need to be considered.

You can also get creative when it comes to the look of your menu; you should carefully consider this area of the catering equipment because it will give a direction representation of what the restaurant is all about. Other things you will need to remember are; clothing for staff, trays, shelving, bins, disposable food packages and napkins.
