NO BAD DAYS For This Band

By  |

Nancy Lara & The NO BAD DAYS BAND bring high-energy, professionalism and fun to every performance. Their diverse musical repertoire is complimented by pro-sound, equipment and lights! The NO BAD DAYS BAND knows how to entertain, engage and play what people love to hear. They get music lovers on their feet and dancing to many of their favorite hits from different genres.  I had the opportunity to interview Nancy and gain insight on the band and talk about their next performance on New Year’s Eve at Ben & Jack’s Steak House in NYC.

OR: How did the bandmembers meet and form NO BAD DAYS?

NL: NO BAD DAYS has enjoyed different members throughout the years, however, the current line-up consists of Nancy Lara, lead vocalist, and rhythm guitarist;  Paul Repetto, on drums (incidentally Nancy and Paul are married). Nancy was fortunate to find and cultivate a relationship with Maurice Evans through the social-networking platform for musicians, Bandmix.com.  Maurice, or “Mo” to his friends, was initially brought on to play bass guitar, however, has recently assumed the lead guitar role in the band. The three aforementioned members have become the core of the band. After assuming the lead guitar role, Mo placed an ad for a bass player through Craig’s List and after several auditions, the band brought on James Knight on Bass Guitar to round out the band.

OR: What type of music do you play?

NL: Everything from rock & roll, to Motown, to dance and country music. We pride ourselves on playing what audiences like to hear.

OR: How do you decide on what music to plays and what gigs to take on?

NL: Mo likes to say we have been on the 10,000 hr. tour, casting a wide net.  We have played bars, restaurants, outdoor festivals, charity events, private parties, and even opened for national artists on major stages.  We are seriously one of the most active bands in the tri-state area with exciting performances. We play to our crowds, and actively collaborate on music selections to keep what we play fresh.

OR: What do you envision for the band in 2020?

NL: In 2020, we would like to expand by playing more corporate events/parties, weddings, and even recording our original music for launch on Spotify. We will continue to get out frequently, because we all truly enjoy playing.

OR: We hear that NO BAD DAYS will be playing at Ben & Jack’s Steak House on New Year’s Eve. What can the guests expect?

NL: Oh my God, Ben & Jack’s is legendary for great food, and is a perfect location for the Speak-Easy theme of the night. Guests can expect an incredible spread that will include appetizers, carving stations, pasta stations, raw bar station, salads and incredible desserts.  There will be an open bar and a champagne toast at midnight. In addition, there will be gaming, reminiscent of underground NY (however, all gaming proceeds will go to St. Judes), and NO BAD DAYS will be playing their brand of live music that will entertain guests.

OR: How did you come to choose Ben & Jack’s Steak House which happens to be one of our favorite steakhouses in NYC?

NL: Ben and Jack’s is known for being one of the best restaurants in Manhattan and they are truly  accommodating in hosting a very special 2020 New Year’s Eve Celebration! Additionally, the proximity of the restaurant allows guests to enjoy the best of New York, without being cast in the middle of Times Square, giving this party a true “insider” feel, within a special ambiance that occurs naturally at this classic restaurant.

OR: We know that there are many parties happening that night. What can you guarantee the guests that might be somewhat different and maybe a little more fun than the others?

NL: Guests will feel engaged and special! Foodies will have their palate sated, gamers will be thrilled with blackjack and craps. The party crowd will enjoy listening and dancing to live music, where the band members will engage them and create an unforgettable experience. Guests will remember this party long after it is over and feel good about how they ushered in a new decade!

OR: How can guests buy a ticket?

NL: All guests need to do is click on this link. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/speakeasy-new-years-eve-tickets-85981534083

OR: It was a pleasure to speak with you and we look forward to seeing you on New Year’s Eve.

NL: Thank you for the opportunity and I look forward to seeing you there.
