Having The Positive Intention To Make Some Active Changes In Your Life

No matter what time of year it is, be that a season change, new year, the start of a brand new week maybe, many of us get an urge to make some significant changes to ourselves. Right now this might be so apparent in your life. Given the fact we are all dealing with covid-19 and tackling lockdowns and restrictions in all aspects of our lives. We have this overwhelming need for change sometimes, and it can be all consuming. But the problem with it is that you don’t necessarily know where to start? 

Many of us will feel this, but won’t be able to pinpoint the motivation that started the thought process in the first place. But the chances are, this will have been an underlying emotion for some time, and now is the time to take actionable steps to make it happen. The thing about changing aspects of yourself is it isn’t just in terms of physical appearance, it is more to do with the emotional connection that you can feel. With that in mind, here are some of the areas you could start in terms of overhauling yourself and your lifestyle with a positive intention. Seek inspiration from other sources 

One of the biggest hurdles people can face when it comes to making changes within themselves is actually looking for the inspiration they need to make those all important decisions and steps forward. Inspiration is all around us, if you know what to look out for. Some people find the desire of inspiration in the likes of self help books or websites. Then you have the likes of religion and seek solace in god. Sometimes just asking the questions and putting it out there will provide you with exactly the signs you need to take the necessary steps forward. There are other ways you can seek the inspiration. Sometimes you just need to actually be at one with nature, getting outside and moving in the fresh air. Looking for all the beauty that surrounds each and every day. You just need to take the time to stop and notice the signs, the love around you, and the inspiration. Often the answers are right in front of us, and when we are open to them, we know exactly what we need to do to move forward. 

Let’s look at self-care

It may sound obvious, but often the changes mean you need to think about yourself. There are physical changes, which we will come to in a moment, but often it can be as simple as indulging in more self care and awareness. This means that you need to prioritize yourself every once in a while. You could look at making those appointments with doctors, eye examiners, dentists or general health practitioners. Make some physical changes 

One of the biggest changes you can make is with your physical being. One of the first areas to start off with would be your diet. This isn’t about going on some extreme diet to lose weight fast, this is more about nourishing your body with all of the things it needs to function properly. Taking pride in what you put in your body and knowing that exactly what you put into it is what you are going to get out of it. Eating a diet of junk and sugar laden things is not going to be any good for you at all in the long term, but a balanced diet full of the right proteins and vegetables and fruit is always going to give you more energy and help you feel good. 

On the topic of feeling good, another way to make a physical change is to work on your fitness levels. It is a proven that you feel better and have more energy if you take regular exercise. It can help you to feel better, it can help you to be at a better weight that is done in a more natural way, and it can certainly be a way of boosting your confidence. These are all things that people want to improve upon when it comes to making changes in themselves, and diet and exercise are two of the most powerful ways to do it that are completely in your control. 

Is it time for a career change?

A lot of people are facing uncertainty surrounding their jobs and careers right now. You may be fortunate enough to work from home dieting the pandemic or get an opportunity to stay away and have a job to return to. For some, it has been a frustrating time, but for others, it may have given you a chance to finally think about what it is you want to do. Is it time for a career change? Getting your resume together, finding job opportunities and going for it, could be a great way to find the right fit. Maybe now is the time to start your own business? Have you had an idea for some time? It may seem like life is uncertain right now, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t change your circumstances. Think about your environment 

Another way to make some changes to yourself is to actually look at your environment, and more specifically your home. Now that spring has sprung, you have the ideal opportunity to make some changes to your home that can really improve how you feel. Cleaning is also another way to make your home feel good. Winter can really mask how your home looks due to dark and cold weather, but once the sun starts shining through your window, you start to notice some of the areas that could need your attention. 

You may want to even thinking about changing environment more permanently and using this new lease of life and motivation to make changes by moving home entirely. Perhaps you have a new job that requires you to relocate, or even just want to have a different home where you can have more space or make the improvements on it that you want to. 

What about your mental health? 

Finally, your mental health is one of the biggest things can affect how you feel. It can stop you moving forward with your plans of self improvement, and it can also be the biggest issue that you might want to overcome. If you have a negative mindset, it can actually affect how you think when it comes to making other changes like your diet and exercise. You may have a damp opinion on things, or just feel the lack of motivation to make the changes. A great place to start would be to start being grateful for all the good things in your life. Remind yourself, even if it is just for five minutes before going to bed, exactly what you are happy about and what you are grateful for. Try and do the same thing first thing in the morning. Sometimes just changing the way you think can have such a good effect that the rest of the changes your want or plan on taking just fall into place.
