How To Balance Your Hair Texture Without Damaging It

By  |

Having great hair is always a dream. People who love dressing up and styling themselves love to get that perfect bounce, silky smooth strands, and shiny hair that reflects the sun. Unfortunately, not everyone is born with luxurious hair that could be combed with fingers every day.

Different factors affect hair texture, such as hair care products, weather conditions, care routine, and environmental factors like pollution. Whether you like it or not, all these contribute to the final look of one’s hair texture. It would be incredibly challenging if one’s hair is the greasy or textured type.

If your hair belongs to that category, some things could be done to bring back its natural shine without further damaging it. Listed below are some ways on how to achieve this balance with proper care:

Do Proper Cleansing

When you wash your hair every time you shower, your hair product is the most significant factor that influences your hair texture. Thus, consider using a deep cleanse shampoo to wash your hair thoroughly.

Deep cleansing works by removing dead skin cells and product residue without stripping away your hair’s natural oils. This allows you to have clean hair without worrying about any damage as it only strips the dirt away. This type of cleansing is entirely safe as you’re not adding harsh chemicals to your hair but instead removing them.

Condition Your Hair

After cleansing your hair, it’s only wise that you should follow it with a good and reliable conditioner brand to promote proper moisturizing, detangling, shininess, frizz reduction, and sometimes hair straightening.

After rinsing off the shampoo, using a conditioner afterward will help bring back moisture to your hair. This would prepare your hair for better styling and enables silky-smooth strands. You wouldn’t have to worry about how frizzy your hair is, for a conditioner usually resolves that issue in a single shower.

You can either go for a daily rinse-out conditioner you apply after shampooing. Another option is using a leave-in conditioner that you apply to your hair without washing it off. For intense moisturization and hydration, you could highly benefit from a deep conditioner that provides more intense hydration to your hair. This type requires you to leave the product on your hair for a couple of minutes to maximize its benefits before rinsing it off.

Moisturize

It has always been recommended that you moisturize your hair when you leave the shower or while you’re in it. This process helps promote your hair’s natural oils if you have extremely dry hair, protecting it from further damage, breakage, and dryness.

Two types of products can help moisturize your hair:

  • Hair Lotion: Once you have cleansed and conditioned your hair, adding hair lotion to your routine will protect your crowning glory from any breakage and dryness. It can also provide a light, non-stiff hold that’ll help you style your hair better.
  • Oils: When applying oils to your hair, always remember that a little goes a long way. When you’re applying too much, you might end up with extremely uncomfortable greasy hair. The use of oils will help enhance your hair’s natural oils and locks in moisture while strengthening your strands.

Do Proper Care

When fussing about your hair, you should at least try to take proper care to manage your hair’s texture without causing any more damage.

The common salon suggestion is not to wash the hair more than once a day. And if you’re going to wash it, it’s also advisable to use just enough for your entire hair. Too much of it, say the conditioner, might cause an extra greasy feeling.

Along with this, hair care experts advise using the proper water temperature when washing your hair. According to them, using warm water at the beginning of the shower is most advisable. The pores will open up in this process, allowing your scalp to absorb the most out of the cleansing products. Afterward, they say to rinse off with cold water so the pores will close, locking in the nutrients from the products.

Another valuable piece of advice is not to brush your hair while it’s still wet, as they say it’ll cause greater damage and might lead to significant hair fall.

Conclusion

When it comes to nurturing the hair, you should always do proper care techniques and use the right or appropriate products for your hair type. That way, you could balance your hair texture better and reap the benefits of making your hair healthier and more manageable.

Thus, always be careful, as one wrong move could lead to hair damage. Nothing is better than having luxurious hair that looks and feels good!
