6 Tips to Keeping Yourself Motivated During Lockdown
When the first lockdown was announced, honestly, I was excited as I have always wanted to work from home and relax. Commuting every day for work seemed really tough and tiring. Working from home seemed like a great option initially, but eventually, I started feeling monotonous and bored. I was a regular jogger pre-lockdown, but now I just felt like staying back home and relaxing. It felt as if I had lost any motivation.
If you are also in the same rut, here are a few tips that will help you stay motivated.
- Create a Routine:
In the first month of lockdown, I used to wake up late every morning and start a late day. Not only that, all my work got delayed, and I crossed several deadlines. I could not even find time to cook or clean properly; exercising was out of the question. It only made me lethargic and pushed me into monotony. Lately, I have started creating a daily routine with goals to achieve. This has made me extra productive and helped me finish all my work much before the deadline.
- Set Up a Home Workplace:
Working from home is not easy as your home is a place of comfort; hence you will not get the feel of the workplace. The only solution is to set up a corner and dress it up as an office nook. This will give your brain the stimulation of the workplace, increasing your productivity.
- Move Your Body:
Exercising may not seem like an obvious choice during the pandemic, as most gyms may be closed. The social distancing norms only mean you have to find ways to work out at home or walk or jog in your street. Though you may be missing out on celebrating holidays and going on outings, it is important you still do not miss celebrations. Maybe in small scale, but do celebrate all positives in life. Such a small burst of joy will help you keep going.
- Speak About Your Emotions:
It is ok to experience a lot of emotions during the pandemic. The uncertainty may make you feel stressed out. You are not alone, as there are others who experience the same. Just talk to your friends and family about your feelings, which will help you deal with it in a better fashion.
