Coastal Worthy Clothes – 5 Outfit Ideas For The Beach

By  |

Summer is here, the sun is shining so that means one thing – time to head to the beach! We’ve been locked down for the majority of the last 18 months so having this level of freedom is something to be celebrated. Spending a dreamy day at the beach is the perfect way to spend time with your nearest and dearest and putting together an outfit should be top of your planning list. Swimwear is an obvious choice but what to wear with it? Read on for the top beach looks for this summer to be the best dressed on the sand.

Amazing Accessorizes

If you’re happy to stick to swimwear without any cover-up clothing then be sure to accessorize to make your look pop. The best beach accessories are ones that are simple enough that you don’t look overdressed in the ocean but highlight your bathing suit. If you’re wearing a plain one-piece add a harness necklace that encircles your neck and your waist to add a sexy vibe. An obvious accessory is a pair of sunglasses – a staple for any trip to the beach. Pick ones that suit your face shape or opt for huge frames for a glamorous Jackie-O look.

Boho Chic

Maxi dresses are a huge hit this summer. Look for elasticated bodices and puff sleeve styles with flowing skirts to nail the trend. Bright colors and bold prints will keep the look contemporary and not too ‘Little House On The Prairie’. Throw on some strappy sandals that tie around the ankle and add a floppy sunhat for an outfit that will have you looking like you just stepped off the pages of Vogue.

Beach Bar Glam

If you’re more of a beach bar kind of gal, make sure you dress accordingly. Look for a bikini with matching outerwear such as a sarong or pair of shorts. Anything bright and patterned will score you extra style points whilst you’re sipping cocktails. Pair with some heeled wedges for the ultimate in beachwear glamour worthy of any super yacht in Monaco.

Pretty Pants

Pants are big for beachwear this year. A look not usually synonymous with the summer, there is a trick to getting it right. You’ll need to make sure the pants are wide-legged, touching the ground (not too long though, you don’t want to look as though they don’t fit you), and if they are made with a sheer fabric even better. Wear a cheeky bottomed bikini to highlight your rear and you’ll look show stopping on the sand.

Die-Hard Denim

Denim cutoffs will always have a place in our hearts when it comes to beach fashion. Easy to wear, easy to match with – what’s not to love! Elevate your look by throwing on a light shirt knotted up at the waist for a laid-back, cool-girl vibe to complete the look. If you want to dress it up a little, add some oversized sunnies and a swipe of red lipstick.
