3 Outdoorsy Travel Ideas You Need to Plan

By  |

Ready to explore the great outdoors? There’s no shortage of beautiful places to visit, and you don’t even have to leave the country for many of them. America boasts more than 400 national parks, and you can enjoy them in numerous ways, including by foot, kayak and horseback. Here are three destination ideas that will guarantee you an unforgettable travel experience.

Yellowstone National Park

A journey to Yellowstone National Park can make you feel like you are on another planet. Seeing the steam rising from hot springs of all different colors in every direction is an awe-inspiring sight. When you drive through the park, you will likely come across a herd of buffalo, deer, or elk. If you are lucky enough, you may even see a bear or lone wolf. The most famous sight to see in the park is Old Faithful, which erupts almost every hour throughout the day. One of the most beautiful things that should not be missed is the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone that features a 300-foot waterfall at the end of a yellow and red rock canyon. Other than driving, Yellowstone can be accessed by flying into West Yellowstone Airport or Bozeman, Montana.

Zion National Park

Zion National Park may not be as well known as Yellowstone, but it has its own unique features that make it stand out just as much. The easiest way to get to Zion, which is in Utah, is to fly into Las Vegas — it is only about three hours away from there. The most famous hike at Zion is known as The Narrows. The Narrows can be as long as a 16-mile hike through a narrow canyon with walls being as high as 1,000 feet. You also have to walk through as much as 5-6 feet of water depending on the time of year. The other hike that you can’t miss in Zion is known as Angels Landing. This hike takes you up the narrow ridge of a mountain to a 1,500-foot high rock formation. There is only a chain to hold onto as you make this hike, but once you conquer it, the view is one you will never forget.

Denali National Park

Visiting Denali National Park can be its own adventure or a side trip you take while on an Alaskan cruise. Alaska cruises are a unique experience for even the most seasoned traveler. There are multiple destinations you can go to when you take one of these cruises including Glacier Bay, Anchorage, and Juneau. You will have the opportunity to see grizzly bears, moose, whales, bald eagles, and even king salmon. You will also never forget seeing a massive glacier in front of your own eyes at Glacier Bay. After a day of exploring beautiful sights, you’ll enjoy the fine dining and entertainment on board as you travel on to your next port. Book your 2021 Alaska cruise now and have an incredible time!

When you visit any one of these locations, you will have something you will remember for the rest of your life. Get out this year and go on one of these unique trips.
