5 Ways to Modify Your Car

By  |

Car modification is, for many people, an enjoyable past time. When you buy a car, you are buying a feat of mechanical engineering that has been expertly made and crafted, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enhance your vehicle. Depending on your skill level and your budget, you can make major or minor modifications. The potential is endless which is a good thing, but this is a double-edged sword.

With so many options, it can be hard to know how to modify your car. If you’re thinking about customizing your car but aren’t sure what type of modifications you want to make, here are some suggestions you might find useful.

  1. Wheels

One of the easiest ways you can modify your car is by changing the wheels. This is something you can do to any car, be it a sports car or your everyday car, and it’s relatively inexpensive, too. There are limitless options for you to choose from, and all you need to do is select the correct wheel size. Even if your car doesn’t have alloys, you can purchase wheel trims that replicate the look of alloys.

The great thing about modifying car wheels is that whilst it’s a relatively easy change, it can have a huge impact on the overall look of your car. There are lots of classic combinations you can go for to get an instant win, such as black allows with run-flat tires, or you can choose something slightly more out there, such as gold, gray or even purple.

A good tip is to try and match your wheels to the overall look of your car. Just because rainbow trims exist doesn’t mean you need them!

  1. Carbon Upgrades

There are few things as sleek as carbon fiber. Not only is it super lightweight yet extremely durable, it looks stunning on every type of car. From white to black, carbon fiber works on every vehicle. Whether you go for a full BMW M4 carbon kit or add on carbon fiber wing mirrors as a starting point for your Hyundai, carbon fiber can instantly amp up the look of your car.

It’s a relatively easy modification to make and is well worth it if you’re looking to start small.

  1. Tinted Windows

Lots of brand new cars have tinted windows as they roll off the conveyor belt, but the majority of other cars don’t. Tinted windows can make your car look sleeker, offer privacy and provide protection from the sun, and it doesn’t cost a lot to get done. You will need to double check tint laws where you are to ensure you’re legally compliant.

  1. Neon Under Lights

Adding neon lights underneath your car is somewhat of a more extreme modification in the sense that it’s mostly seen with more souped up cars that have a full set of plastics and that have been lowered, but this doesn’t have to be the case. It’s a beautiful addition to any car and can really set it apart from others, especially at night. If attention is what you want, neon under lights are what you need.

  1. Rear Diffuser

If you have a sports car and want to hit the track, you need a rear diffuser. The purpose of a rear diffuser is to improve the aerodynamics of the vehicle, allowing you get more traction and retain more grip when going around corners. Not only this, but it looks pretty cool on the back bumper, too.

Summary

So, have any of these modifications inspired you to get started on your own car? If so, what will be you starting with?
