What Does Your Look Say About You?

By  |

It’s a big question, and one that can have many answers. After all, the way you dress, and the way other people perceive you, can make up a big part of the way we think and feel about ourselves. And even when we try to dress just for us, and like no one else is looking, it can be hard to get that nagging judgmental feeling out of the back of our heads.

But the way you actually dress is always going to be much better than the way you think you dress! We are our own harshest critics, and that’s something we need to change. So, here is what your dress sense really says about you, and why you should feel good in your body no matter what.

That You’re Confident

The way you dress is all about your own, personal style. And if you feel able to dress in a way that best suits you, and that you also like, it shows that you’re a confident person! You’re able to make choices in fashion that no one else does in quite the same way, and that’s something to feel both proud and confident about.

That You Know What You Want

The way you dress tells other people that you know who you are, and what you want. If you’re dressed to the nines in a black cocktail dress and you’ve used special Japanese beauty products to bring a glow to your skin, then you clearly want a good night out! But if you’re dressed in a pair of jeans and a loose top, you clearly want a relaxed and casual day.

The way we dress sends signals to others about what we want out of life, and that’s something you can use to your advantage. It’s why we ‘dress for the occasion’, and why you should never feel bad on the occasion that other people in shopping malls or cafes seem to have a more polished look. You just want different things out of the day!

That You Can Express Yourself

Fashion is one of the main ways we can express ourselves. In a world where looks seem to be everything, knowing that you look like you, and can show the world the kind of person you are through your clothing choices, is the strongest form of expression possible. And there are many different benefits to this type of expression!

Dressing in the way you want can help you to feel happier, as well as help you to experiment with your clothing style, and also be more ‘vocal’ about your morals and values as a person. If you’re wearing recycled and ethically sourced, for example, it shows you’re serious about how your fashion impacts on the world. And this kind of expression is invaluable.

Your look says a lot about you, and it’s all good stuff you’d want the world to know. Make sure to keep this in mind when looking in a mirror.
