Tips and Tricks on How to Properly Prepare for a Paintball Event?

By  |

Paintball is one of the most exhilarating sports you can play outdoors. It’s easy to learn but difficult to master, making it an incredibly fun activity for friends and family members of all ages to participate in together. However, it also requires a bit of endurance and know-how in order to really excel at it. Here are some simple tips and tricks that can help you properly prepare for a paintball event so that you can leave the other team in the dust.

1. The Right Gear

The first thing that you need in order to properly prepare for a paintball event is the right gear. Without it, you’ll be at such a disadvantage against the other team that it won’t even be fun to play. The two most important pieces of equipment are a proper mask and a good paintball gun. If you aren’t an overly experienced player, it would probably be a good idea to look at paintball mask guides in order to find the right one for you. As a general rule, you’ll want something that fits easily, doesn’t fog up rapidly, and that offers full coverage so that no paint can potentially get into your eyes. Of course, if the mask is easily upgradable – that’s a big plus as well. As for the gun, most paintballers will tell you, the best marker is the one that feels most comfortable to use. If it’s too heavy, you won’t want to shoot it for very long. Consequently, if it’s too light, you risk having your marker leaking air or broken on the field more often than not. Also, make sure that you buy your equipment new – resold paintball guns and masks are oftentimes faulty or degraded to the point where they aren’t even good enough to use.

2. Workout Routine

Another thing that you’ll need to do in order to properly prepare for a paintball event is start working out. This may be one of the most overlooked aspects of paintball, but it’s absolutely essential if you want to have any chance of being on top of your game when you play. The more stamina and endurance you have, the more paintballs you can shoot before getting too tired, and the more you can run before feeling winded, the better your chances are of blasting the other team off the field. Try to do a few pushups or jump around in place for a minute or two every morning before you get ready for work to start building up that stamina. Additionally, you might want to start developing a running routine for yourself, to increase your lung capacity. This way, you’ll be able to run across the field without getting too out of breath, and it will also keep your legs in shape for running away from enemy fire.

3. Team Discussions

While you can play paintball one on one and still have a good time, playing in teams can be even more interesting. If your event includes team battles, make sure to talk with your fellow paintballers in advance about what strategies you want to use. Just like in any other group project, proper communication within your team will greatly improve your chances of winning. For instance, if you’re all split up across the field in different areas, can you all meet up later on? Knowing this ahead of time makes for a much more harmonious game. This is especially true when it comes to gathering paintball equipment and then getting it onto the field. You’ll need to agree on a place to drop it off before the game starts, and then everyone will need to get there at roughly the same time. This way, you won’t have to leave your position in order to pick up vital supplies – which will give you an edge too!

4. Practice Shooting

Finally, make sure that you arrive for the paintball event early enough to practice shooting in your designated area. You don’t want to forget how to use your paintball gun just when it counts! Try out some different firing speeds and pay attention to how long each trigger pull is so that you can get used to all of them beforehand. Getting a few practice shots off before the event starts can save you a lot of time otherwise spent fiddling with your equipment. Of course, even if you do everything else right, you’ll still want to have fun! So try not to get too caught up in all of the planning – after all, paintball is an incredibly fun sport, so just enjoy yourself.

If you’re interested in playing paintball, then you’re going to need to prepare yourself properly before attending an event. Although this may seem like a lot of work, it’s definitely worth it if you really want to have fun and be the best player that you can possibly be. Paintball is an incredibly exciting sport – so good luck!
