Positive Changes You Can Make To Your Life in February

By  |

Once January is out of the way, most of our New Year’s resolutions have gone out of the window. Whether you tried dry January for a couple of weeks until you had a particularly stressful day, or you wanted to quit takeaways but then ended up having a slice of pizza in the office.

The most important thing you can do at the start of February is look back at your mistakes and forgive them. No one is perfect, and we all have moments of weakness, but that doesn’t mean we have to consider our goals a failure and quit. Had a slice of pizza? Go for an extra 20 minute walk the next day. Drank a glass of wine? Hydrate with water the next day. Driving forward with healthy choices in February is what it’s all about… loving ourselves and our bodies.

We are challenging you this month to make one small change to your life. It could be as simple as writing a to-do list to help organize your day, or it could be losing a certain number of pounds to make you feel healthier. Here are just a few of the things you can to make a positive change in your life this month.

Walk every day

When trying to get back into a healthy workout routine, one of the biggest challenges is getting started. Walking is not an intense form of working out however it is the ideal type of exercise to get you out and about and starting to shed those pounds. Make sure to head out for a small walk every single day whether it be at the start of the day, on your lunch break, or in the evening with your family.

Nurture your muscles

When we are working at home and sitting at a desk all day long, it doesn’t take long for our muscles to become strained and tight. This is why you should take some time every day, even if it’s only 5 minutes, to stretch out and lengthen those muscles. Yoga as well as plates are both great exercises for this, and using medical massage therapy services can also be good for deeper issues that restrict your movement. Make sure to stretch it out and you will feel so much healthier and happier.

Eat meatless meals

When trying to stay healthy in the new year, one of the biggest challenges is a change to our diets. Moving towards a better diet can be difficult, and that’s why making small changes to your food rather than overhauling it overnight can be a better way to handle things. Make the switch this month to meat free meals once or twice a week and you’ll soon notice that you start to lose a few pounds. Meatless meals will have less fat content and they are also more diverse than you think. From making tofu katsu curry to meatless enchiladas – there are many healthy options that will be more sustainable for your diet as well as being better for the environment too.
