5 Self-Care Suggestions for Better Wellbeing

By  |

Do you find it hard to slow down? We live in a hectic world. Stopping occasionally is good for your health, your body, and your brain. These five suggestions could help you heal.

The modern world is full of busyness. People rush from one task to the other and with good reason. Those bills must be paid, no matter what, and too frequently we let this affect our daily lives in a negative way. How often have you held on an extra hour at work to make sure you met your deadlines? Every time you do this, you are putting yourself second. These tips should help you reward yourself for a change. Let’s face it, it’s about time you started making it up to yourself.

5 Self-Care Suggestions to Reward Yourself With

Your hard-working self requires your care and attention. If you wouldn’t treat a loved one the way you treat you, then you need to assess your self-worth. Self-care is a great tool for improving self-worth. You could change your life with these few tips.

1 – The Hot Bath

How long has it been since you swapped out a quick jump in the shower for a long soak in the bath? We go for so long just trying to stay clean that we forget cleansing is a ritual. Get yourself a lovely luxury bubble bath or bath bomb, up your candle accessories to illuminate that bathroom and use all your favorite products. That means a face mask, a foot mask, a hair mask, a clay mask, exfoliating scrubs, your jade roller and some refreshing facial products for after all those masks.

You could add rose petals, essential oils, or Epsom salts to your bath for an extra touch of elegance. You can even buy bulk essential oils to ensure you have plenty of your favorite scents.

2 – Favorite Places

Everyone has a favorite place somewhere in the world. Whether that is at the top of a mountain or at home with the full family around them doesn’t matter. The important thing is that you find a way to incorporate these places into your lifestyle. If you love spending time with the family, don’t wait till Christmas to do it. Organize dinners on Sundays, meet up for wine on a Tuesday night. Plan to visit your favorite places a couple of weeks in advance to give yourself something to look forward to.

3 – Adjusting your diet

Eating right is the best thing you can do for your body. If you can’t always eat a balanced diet through lack of funds, then invest in supplements. An all-round vitamin and mineral blend will help. However, nothing should replace getting those nutrients naturally.

4 – Focus on Exercise

When people tell you that exercise is good for you, they don’t just mean good for your body. They mean good for clearing your mind and keeping your mood up. Walking allows your thoughts to wander in a potentially pleasant location outside of your normal routine. A change is as good as a holiday, and just 30 minutes of walking per day could change your life.

5 – Build a Support Network

Chose a few confidants. Confide your troubles and worries to them. Get a therapist for one session every few weeks. Build a network that will give you the support you need to get through life. Even those from the biggest families and social circles need to vent once in a while.

Self-Care is Self-Preservation

Take the time to stop occasionally. Take that pressure off. You can’t live with it full time, it isn’t healthy.
