On October 24th 2016, the enCourage Kids Foundation held its 2nd Annual Serving Up Smiles Tasting Event at CURRENT, Chelsea Piers, New York City.
CURRENT, Chelsea Piers filled with over 250 guests tasting some of the most coveted restaurants in New York City. The event raised nearly $225,000 to support programs that provide children and families combatting a variety of health challenges with opportunities to laugh, play and have fun like ordinary kids…even through their darkest days.
“I’m so inspired by the work of the enCourage Kids organization and absolutely honored that I was able to emcee such a great event,” said Chef Chris Nirschel aka Culinary Bad Boyand host of the evening.
The tasting included samplings from Butter, El Toro Blanco, Ben & Jacks, Robert Restaurant, Melt Shop, Buns Bar, Café 2 and Terrace 5 at MoMA, Arcade Bakery, Kellari, Cowfish. Decadent desserts were offered by Bryant Park Grill, The City Bakery, Melt Bakery and Carlos Bakery. Wine and spirits were provided by Enoclassica, Pinot Project, Post Wine and Spirits, Disaronno, Soltado Spicy Anejo Tequela and Tito’s Handmade Vodka.
Celebrity guests NFL Legend Tony Richardson, former NY Giants Christian Peter, Olympic Medalist, Sasha Cohen and Z100 Host, Shelley Rome came to support the enCourage Tasting Event.
The night was a huge success for Michele Hall-Duncan, Executive Director, enCourage Kids Foundation. “Our guests loved the food, music and energetic atmosphere.
