On October 3, 2014, over 300 women came out to partake in the 3rd Annual Women’s Eid Al-Adha celebration in Princeton, NJ. The Mother-Daughter themed party was filled with colorful traditional attire, beautiful jewelry, henna tattoos, delicious food, choreographed dancers and a DJ to keep the party going way into the night. Hosted by Ghazala Rizvi, Tabinda Khan and Uzma Haider, the woman-only gathering has grown larger each year giving the women an opportunity to gather and enjoy each other’s company while engaging their daughters in culture and traditions.
Every year over a billion Muslims gather with family and friends to celebrate Eid Al-Adha. Also known as the “Feast of the Sacrifice”, Eid Al-Adha is recognized by all Abrahamic religions to commemorate the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Ishmael as an act of obedience to Allah.
