Kanye West and his squadron of models debuted his Yeezy Season 2 line during New York Fashion Week. The show was scheduled for September 16 and the invitations were camouflage t- shirts. Not only was the collection all new, but Yeezy also teased his new song during the show.
This show was very special. The show was streamed into select theaters for a larger audience viewing. West wanted as many of his fans as possible to have access to the event. This is only his second time having a show during a fashion week. Last February, Yeezy Season 1 Adidas line was West’s first time down the runway.
Similar to West’s last show, he kept the army- like theme for this one. The models marched out silently in straight rows until one called out “left, left, right, left” and the models exited row by row. The show’s vibe was extremely laid- back. One of the models, Ian Connor even smoked a cigarette while walking the runway. During the finale the models lined up in order for their outfits to fade from nude to black.
Yeezy Season 2 was full of neutral color tones from nude to black. The models wore robe-like trench coats, body suits, army jackets and body suits. Kanye West’s designs had a theme of comfort and simplicity. A majority of the pieces in the collection were nude or tan with army green accent pieces.
The models shoes were equally as simple as their outfits. They wore nude or black army boots, high top sneakers and ankle booties. Some models even wore clear heels. Pointed toe style seemed to be common in the ankle boot trend.
The audience was star studded in support for Yeezus. The front row included sister- in- laws, Kendall Jenner, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian. Wife, Kim Kardashian- West, and even his daughter, North, made an appearance. Lorde, Jaden Smith, Anna Wintour, Riccardo Tisci, Common, Michael Strahan and more came out for the show.
