When someone thinks of a model on social media, thoughts turn to an Instagram profile laden with beauty shots of a pretty girl with tons of followers seeking to generate flattering comments and a plethora of “likes.” In most cases, these models are essentially the very product they seek to promote as they hope to land photo shoots and promotional for themselves.
That’s fine as far as it goes, but Jeimmy Garzón is more of an entrepreneur than that and has certainly has not limited herself to mere Instagram images and self promotion. There’s more to her than meets the eye and considering what does meet the eye, that’s really saying something.
Born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia, Jeimmy began working straight out of a modeling academy where she enrolled at age 14, landing stints in a variety of commercial campaigns and television programs. While her childhood dream was to model and act, she studied business in school which has served her well in a non-modeling capacity.
She is the founder and CEO of Olibérica, an import/export company based in Bogotá that specializes in wine, olives, olive oils, sangria, and a variety of other high end products. The company has seen impressive growth since its founding and Jeimmy anticipates continued growth for the company and expects increased success for that venture in the coming years.
In the meantime, Jeimmy is also focussed on her current promotion with House of Maguie, a London-based boutique fashion line. This work has her splitting her time between Colombia and the UK.
Social media has been good to Jaimmy, and she is taking full advantage of the opportunities before her as she establishes her brand and her company in a concerted effort to secure a comfortable future for herself and her family.
