Sneaker Brands giving music Artist the chance to design and release their own sneakers have become the new wave. We have Drake with Jordan Brand, Kanye West, 2 Chainz, Big Sean with Adidas, and now the great Kendrick Lamar has teamed up with Reebok. Kendrick has quickly become the king of the rap game and is up for 11 Grammys this year. His last Album “To Pimp A Butterfly” went Platinum and is one of greatest Albums of 2015. Kendrick seems to run the world when it comes to music, but this time he steps in a different lane, kicks.
The Ventilators were released last year and did pretty well, selling out in the U.S and in the U.K. What is amazing about the shoe is not the shoe itself, but what it represents. On the heel of both shoes features the words “Blue” on one and “Red” on the other. The model was created to bring peace towards two of the hardest gangs in L.A, the Bloods and Crips. Kendrick is known as being the man of his city and represents Compton wherever he goes. Kendrick’s goal is stop the violence between both crews and create unity between the two. The new model releasing this month features upgraded leather along with a more grey touch than the previous white version that released last year.
