Nobody likes to admit a toxic trait that they have, but we all do have them. It might be something that’s so glaringly obvious that you struggle to make friends from it, or it might be so secretive that only you and those closest to you know about it. But either way, it’s called a toxic trait for a reason, and we know that you don’t want to spend your life living with them. So, we’re going to outline some of the most toxic traits that we think people have, and how we think you can work around them. We want everyone to become the best versions of themselves, and that’s only going to happen if you start facing those demons today! So, keep on reading, and we’ll show you how you can get rid of some of those toxic traits you have, even if you don’t realise that you have them!
Ones Damaging To Your Health
We want to address this one first, because the ones that are damaging to your health are the ones that are most likely going to do you the most harm as time goes on. One of the most toxic traits we have that we don’t like to admit, is drinking. Drinking can go from a glass of comfort wine at the end of the night, to a whole bottle on the weekend. And before you know it that bottle turns into a daily occurance, even if it is shared with your partner. It’s that toxic trait that’s one day going to lead to so many internal health problems that you just don’t want to deal with. Even if you feel like your problem is not out of control, you might benefit from visiting the Lake Wellness Center to see if you can benefit from any of the treatment plans they have to offer. If you know a drink is something that you can’t go without, then this really might be worth considering!
Damaging To Your Relationships
The relationships we build in life will come and go. Think of all of the partners that have come and gone. Think about all of the friends you once considered your ride or dies, and now you don’t even know who they are. But sometimes it’s the traits we have that can make a big difference, and one of them is selfishness. We can become so bitter in our quest to be selfless, when really there should be a fine line between selflessness and selfishness. If you have someone who you know is going all out for you, you should repay that in the same way. If you have people who do nothing for you, then you should do the same! Don’t let relationships be one sided, no matter which side of the line we’re talking about.
Damaging To Your Mental Health
Mental health issues are on the rise, and we’re creating a lot of the issues we have from simple lack of communication. A toxic trait the majority of us have is bottling everything up until we can’t take it anymore, and it manifests into stress and anxiety. So always make sure you’re open and honest about your problems, no matter who you think you’ll annoy!
